Mr. Whiteside called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. The Board members introduced themselves and all the
member of the committees did likewise. A sign in sheet was circulated and is attached hereto.
Mr. McGee pointed out that the purpose of the meeting was to provide background information to the committee members
on the process and not to discuss any specific reuse of the surplus federal property. He also pointed out that
the Navy is expected to make a declaration of surplus property on May 9th. At this time the Navy is advertising
to other federal agencies the availability of approximately 810 acres. To date, the Navy has received
expressions of interest for 15 acres from the Air Force, 65 acres from the Army, 3-4 acres from the FAA and the VA
may be interested in a building not yet identified for use as a Clinic.
Ms. Liz Gabor of the Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA) presented the DVD "Communities Responding to
Change" and a PowerPoint presentation outlining the BRAC process. Ms. Gabor responded to many questions
from the committee members and the public.
There being no additional business the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM,
